Quotes by Shannon L. Alder

Sometimes another person’s fear tells you that everything youre about to do is right.

You will never get to your destination on time if choose to walk two paths through life.

Life has always been a series of the same choices: enslavement, apathy or freedom.

If you want to know if someone was meant to be in your future, then remove all the worldly things about them from your mind. Don’t think about their looks, the intimate moments or their personality. Now, think about how they made you feel, how they improved your life and what virtues they possess that push you to want to become better. Did they bring you closer to God? Did they bring you to your life mission? Did they ever lie to you, betray you or made it impossible for you to feel comfortable speaking your mind? When you remove all the shine from a diamond, it becomes a glass rock. What value is it then? See beneath the surface and you will know who your future is with.

Your body is a temple, not a daily dumping ground for another person’s pain, anger, betrayal, judgment, hypocrisy, denial, games, jealousy or blame. When you are being psychologically, spiritually or emotionally abused by a person, and they don’t care how it hurts you, then it is time to leave what is polluting your relationship with God.

When you’re in love with two people, always choose the second. The fact that you are constantly thinking of the second person makes it obvious that the first will never fulfill you, unless the second person did not fulfill you either. At this point, you have to choose the third person because God is getting a little tired of your inattention and indecisiveness, and is planning on sending a fourth person into your life just to slap you around with the bible for not entering the promised land.

God is always willing to give you the best life possible. If you change your mind at any time you are free to go back to enjoying hell.

You know you are on the right spiritual track when you realize that doing the right thing is not something you should do; rather, it is something you want to do. It is even something you have to do for your own peace, and the well-being of others.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, but I chose neither one. Instead, I set sail in my little boat to watch a sunset from a different view that couldnt be seen from shore. Then I climbed the tallest mountain peak to watch the amber sun through the clouds. Finally, I traveled to the darkest part of the valley to see the last glimmering rays of light through the misty fog. It was every perspective I experienced on my journey that left the leaves trodden black, and that has made all the difference.

The most important journey you will take in your life will usually be the one of self transformation. Often, this is the scariest because it requires the greatest changes, in your life.

Regrets are the last words you speak to your loved ones when you die and the one thing we all fear when we live. Id rather regret the things Ive done and said than regret the things I havent done or said. It is all the experiences and people you missed out on in life that you will feel the most regretful for in the end. God will forgive you of your mistakes, but there is nothing to forgive if you have never even tried, done or said anything that made a difference in your life or others.

Timing is only lack of enough emotions.

If you want peace in your life, you have to stop declaring war.

The man that is meant to love you will have a million questions about you, but none will ever ask your value.

Forgiveness is not an invitation to become a doormat for other peoples hypocrisy.

Inside of you is your love, not beside you. She is just there to remind you of where you placed her heart.

Dont ever let someone tell you the value you dont have, in order to be in someones life. That is often the value they feel you have, not that person.

Gods justice is always perfect.

The good part about having a mental disorder is having a valid reason for all the stupid things we do because of a damaged prefrontal cortex. However, the best part is seeing someone completely sane do the exact same things, without a valid excuse. This is the great equalizer of God and his little gift for all us crazy people to enjoy.

Sometimes painfully lost people can teach us lessons that we didnt think we needed to know, or be reminded of---the more history changes, the more it stays the same.
