Quotes by Scott Weiland

“Sing the song or keep it inside.”

“Dead fish dont swim around in jealous tides.”

“People that are affected by music are affected for innocent reasons, because something makes them feel something.”

“I dont know. I just dont have the same willingness to, as they say, bend like a willow in the wind, like I may have when I was younger. Im kind of set in my ways, and I am what I am. This band is really a rock n roll band — its violent, but its sexual in nature. Its really harbored in its punk rock, sexual roots. Its definitely not metal. Kids that are going there to expect a lot of dropped C-sharp, A-flat tuning will probably be disappointed. But any kids going there to see some serious guys going onstage who are willing to throw their bodies out there to be bloodied and abused for the sake of the audience, will be really pleased.”

“We needed someone who could play like the devil and sing like heaven.”

“I wish I could live in the dream that I fly on tarred & feathered wings.”

“I think we did an interesting and inspiring rendition.”

“There was a news article on here before entitled ... and it had photos of him drinking orange juice. My life hasnt been the same since I saw those pictures..”

“I think the basic thought process was that, when the offer came to us, after doing the rest of our touring for the rest of the year, it would be a good idea to play for a basic, real, hard rock audience that we havent played to yet.”

“very happy about the opportunity the judge has given me.”

I see love, like art, as an obsession. Maybe thats an overly romantic view of human existence, but Im an overly romantic human being. If love, like rock and roll, doesnt consume me 24-7, its not love. It can be respect, appreciation, admiration, wonderment, it can be a world of glory and a lifetime of peace, but I cant call it love. Love burns me and confuses me. Loves a light that cant be extinguished.

Computers and the Internet have made it really easy to rant. Its made everyone overly opinionated.

A lot of journalists like to suck up to celebrities, and then as soon as theyre a safe distance away at their computers, they take shots. But thats the way society has become, especially in pop culture.

I had always sung in choirs. Even when it was something to be laughed at or made fun of, you know, in school. And I was always the kid who was picked at the Christmas concert to sing the solo, you know, while the other kids snickered in the front few rows.

Theres a beauty in being part of a band, when theres equality and trust.

Music, as many people have said, is the universal language. Of course points are made which make you think about things, but ultimately it makes you feel. And thats why people remember more songs that have meant something during their life than films. They start to define periods in your life, and thats kind of the beauty of it.

My favorite hobby is writing and recording songs at my studio. I like to surf, but I dont get a chance to do that as much as Id like. I dont live close to the beach. I also like to ski, but I dont get to do that much, either.
