She didn't care about anything, or maybe she cared too much.
Humility is recognizing the fullness of our sin, so we can embrace the fullness of God's mercy.
Humble me so I do what is right. Break me so I cling to You. Expose me so my motives stay pure.
Everyone is on a journey at any given moment in their lives
Bad stories can create good people, and I wanted to protect them from those bad stories so they could live with the good person they'd created without ever worrying about what I had to go through to become that person. I kept those secrets because I needed to . . . and sometimes it's OK to make those kinds of decisions for the sake of your own happiness.
Do you keep silent to keep a friendship or do you try to lend your support unconditionally, even if what they are doing goes against everything you believe in? Will it be principles over friendship, morality over love?
Hate. The word is thrown around as uselessly and as often as love is, and is used as a means in which to accuse and inflict damage; the weak-in-argument (weak in general) use it to discredit those with whom they disagree rather than dissect the issues for what they really are. I liken it to the predictable ad hominem attack, which is about as transparent as those who so ridiculously claim to know what’s in the heart of another.
It's not that I am "above" feeling hatred. It's that I make the choice whether to yield to it or not. Hatred keeps a person with you, and the last thing I want with me in my thoughts is someone who doesn't deserve to be there.
I’m thinking of the protector who wants to be protected and a fighter who loves the right battle but will lay down her arms to go on a quest.
Some things you sentence yourself to life for.
I hope your heart feels better. I hope your mind is set right.I hope your love is connected to others, and you don't feel so lost and locked up.I hope everything is okay for you. And by okay, I mean greater than ever.
Somewhere inside you, I hope you know who you are. I hope you know what you are. I hope you know that you're powerful. We need you.
“The election of Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger as pope is an enormous disappointment for all those who hoped for a reformist and pastoral pope. ... But we must wait and see, for experience shows that the papacy in the Catholic Church today is such a challenge that it can change anyone: Someone who went into the conclave a progressive cardinal can emerge as a conservative pope. ... Someone who went into the conclave a conservative cardinal can emerge as a progressive pope.”
The nature of the enemy's warfare in your life is to cause you to become discouraged and to cast away your confidence. Not that you would necessarily discard your salvation, but you could give up your hope of God's deliverance. The enemy wants to numb you into a coping kind of Christianity that has given up hope of seeing God's resurrection power.
“I hope I come out all right, and I hope he comes out all right.”
“Hope is the companion of power, and mother of success; for who so hopes strongly has within him the gift of miracles.”
“Hope is the only good that is common to all men; those who have nothing else possess hope still”
“I would rather entertain and hope that people learned something than educate people and hope they were entertained.”
I would rather entertain and hope that people learned something than educate people and hope they were entertained
My hope is that tomorrow will be fine, but, if tomorrow doesn't go well, I shall still hope to be fine tomorrow!
