Quotes by Richelle E. Goodrich

Imagine in vibrant, wonderful detail your heart’s desire—a reality only you can envision, an adventure only you can direct. Then cradle your creation. Caress it. Mold it. Coddle it until it comes to life. And when your precious treasure grows so grand as to steal your breath away, set it free for all the world to experience. For that is how you live your dreams.

Have you ever pondered the miracle of popcorn? It starts out as a tiny, little, compact kernel with magic trapped inside that when agitated, bursts to create something marvelously desirable. It’s sort of like those tiny, little thoughts trapped inside an author’s head that―in an excited explosion of words―suddenly become a captivating fairytale!

It is said that you cant write without a reader. The opposite holds true as well; you cant read without a writer. But if as a single, creative person you are one in the same, then, well.....problem solved! Great writing is born from that which we personally long to read.

What Ive learned about writing is that sometimes less is more, while often more is grander. And both are true.

Poetry is the wailing of a broken heart―the etched sorrows of despairing souls.  These artful words are an exclamation in rare colors expressed noiselessly on parchment.  Poetry is the unheard cry of a flower, wilting.  It is a humble, lucent tear shed with meaning.  It is the lovely portrayal of ugliness and the bitter edge of sweet.  Poetry speaks to the spirit by piercing understanding. It interprets all senseless truths―beauty, love, emotion―into sensible scrawl.  Poetry is vague affirmation and bewildering clarification. Like the most poignant of emotions, we understand the essence but cannot adequately do it verbal justice, crippled by inherently weak tongues.  A spiritual soothsayer, poetry is the closest thing to expression of feelings unutterable.

Knowledge gained is as useless as prideif filed away and never applied.

Lifes greatest lessons were not shown to me, read to me, illustrated or explained to me; they happened to me.

What you perceive as a failure today may actually be a crucial step towards the success you seek. Never give up.

No matter how loud the sirens or how numerous the hazard signs, we all touch the flames at least once to prove theyre hot.

Chew off a little every day, because it’s hard to swallow a whole pie at once.

You cannot know what I do not tell you, yet you will be judged harshly for not knowing.

Im not saying that I think one man is better than the other. Im not saying that either is kinder or wiser or more ambitious, more thoughtful, confident, or able. But the fact is that when Im with the one, comfort settles into my bones. I feel calm around him, as if the sun is smiling down on me and the world has suddenly become a sweet, safe place to be. I feel good about life―about myself. And its hard not to want to be near someone who, just by their very nature, makes you feel that way.

One of the most troubling facts I have had to accept is that people are not all angel or all devil. They are both good and awful to varying degrees and in varying circumstances. On any given day, dependent upon the situation, you will be confronted by either the devil of a person or the angel of the same person or a curious mix of both. This means you can, and most likely will, love and hate the same individual alternately throughout your life. This truth I find painfully heartbreaking.

Had life not given me reasons to grieve, I would never have known the healing power of a hug.

Rare and precious moments, how I long to live with you eternally! If only your sweetness never ceased to touch my lips, and the flutters you evoke nevermore faded away. I dream of your arm extended immeasurably to keep hold of my reaching hand. But Father Time, being a cruel master, will not grant such a wish. And so I tuck you away as cherished memories, stored in a treasure box buried in my heart. And in times of solitude, I shall bring you out to view like rainbows.

Time is a power of its own, and it may be the only power by which some miracles come to pass.

Father always said that money doesn’t grow on trees. Well, time doesn’t grow on trees either.

Time passes…..and a billion lives are affected in ways we’ll never know.

I have a funny side. I have a soft and sympathetic side. I have a serious side, and a seriously romantic side. I have lots of sides; its the main course I havent quite figured out.

Experience is the catalyst for all great stories.
