During my travels in Iraq, Israel, Gaza, Brazil, Indonesia, Japan, Europe and all over the United States, I have seen and heard the voices of people who want change. They want the stabilization of the economy, education and healthcare for all, renewable energy and an environmental vision with an eye on generations to come.
I had one of my best years in 1991 I was 31. I made a renewed effort to work harder. I got better at my diet. I paid attention to how much sleep I got. I was always someone of routine. I became more strict.
“[The long-term status of Letterman is unclear. After spurning an offer to jump to ABC, the host renewed his CBS contract in a deal that the network says will carry him through 2007.] How long he will continue is entirely up to Dave, ... I don't see any sign of him stepping down.”
“Economic opportunities for some forms of renewable energy not only exist but are ripe and ready for adoption, particularly for grid-connected technologies as urban and peri-urban expansion leads to increasing electricity demand. With the right policies and good governance conditions in place, the private sector can also become a significant partner in these efforts.”
“It was time to create a venue for the commercial market players, to hear about the successful deals. The event was designed to be about the successes in the market, the people who did them, and how you can do it, too. We set out to transform the language about renewable energy finance, by focusing on and presenting what works.”
Here's the sting of livingness. He's back after his nightly voyage of sleep, all clarity and purpose; he's renewed his citizenship in the world of people who strive and connect, people who mean business, people who burn and want, who remember everything, who walk lucid and unafraid.
“The purpose of this program has always been to help spur creativity among scientists, in the hopes that unrestricted grants would move us closer to the day when the tragic suffering caused by this disease is but a memory. Our 20th anniversary honors scientists for their important work and renews our commitment to helping find a cure.”
But the summer had been a very happy one, too -- a time of glad living with summer suns and skies, a time of keen delight in wholesome things; a time of renewing and deepening of old friendships; a time in which she had learned to live more nobly, to work more patiently, to play more heartily.
Starting over begins when I develop a reawakened appreciation for what I already have, a renewed recognition of what I’ve recklessly forsaken, a rehabilitated understanding that I foolishly do both of those things, and a revitalized commitment to live the rest of my life never doing either of them again.
All love stories are frustration stories… To fall in love is to be reminded of a frustration that you didn’t know you had (of one’s formative frustrations, and of one’s attempted self-cures for them); you wanted someone, you felt deprived of something, and then it seems to be there. And what is renewed in that experience is an intensity of frustration, and an intensity of satisfaction.
