“We all lean towards the koa because that's what Hawaii is known for. But it's tough to work with, especially when you get the curly koa. Because of the complexity of the grain, it's a very challenging wood. Mango is a fabulous wood and it's underrated. For some reason, it doesn't carry the influence that koa does. Mango is some beautiful wood. I work some 30 varieties, generally, because I love the variety.”

“The guy who had the biggest challenge (on Tuesday) was Overmyer. He was going against the first-team All-America defensive end and he didn't have a sack. Overmyer was matched up with that kid all night long. We threw 40 some times and only ran the ball six times. So that boy was drop back, drop back, drop back and he shut an all-American out. That's pretty good.”

“He's definitely an all-around player; he can do it all. But our team really needed some defense and he has been able to step in and do it and do a good job at it. He's probably a better forward than he is a defenseman -- and you definitely don't get the stats or attention that you would as a forward -- but he's a real team guy and accepts any challenge we give him in the name of the team.”

“We find a lot of tangents between jazz improvisation and the challenges our business partners face every day. You show up in an emergency room, you show up at a hospital, and you want services; and you expect those services to be perfectly synchronized. Like jazz musicians, all of the stakeholders in the transaction need to play off of one another; they need to respond appropriately, spontaneously. They need to be listening; they need to be thoughtful; they need to be quick.”

“We are excited about this year's schedule. The N.C. State game gives our fan base a marquee home game in September against a team from the ACC. We're also very pleased with the addition of Florida and Virginia Tech to our schedule, two of the top programs in the nation. Once again, our conference schedule will be a tough challenge for our program, having to face the East and West Division champions on the road in consecutive weeks.”

“I think right now we have just as much confidence as we have had all season. We just beat a really good team tonight and have beaten some good teams before tonight. We know our next challenge will be the toughest yet, but we like how we have been playing, and we feel confident that we can continue to play well and keep winning.”

“As organizations seek to attract and retain older workers, they must be careful not to lump all 'older workers' into the same category - it's important to differentiate the work experiences and motivations of these employees. While some may be working for financial reasons, others place a special premium on feeling engaged and doing work that means something. Recruiting and retaining older workers requires careful consideration of job design, work environment, and creating new and challenging opportunities.”

“We want to get our students out there. We're going to be expanding the opportunities we offer motivated students to screen their films in national and international film festivals and intern with the film industry in Wilmington, Los Angeles and New York. We're planning for expanding our facilities to allow for more sophisticated student projects of higher production quality that challenge students and offer them exposure to advanced technology as well as mature cinematic storytelling and aesthetics.”

To commit herself to becoming "an apostle of Joy" when humanly speaking she might have felt at the brink of despair, was heroic indeed. She could do so because her joy was rooted in the certitude of the ultimate goodness of God's loving plan for her. And though her faith in this truth did not touch her soul with consolation, she ventured to meet the challenges of life with a smile. Her one lever was her blind trust in God.
