What is good customer service about then? One word: caring.Bad customer service happens when the employee doesn't care. You could chalk it up to low wages or getting paid regardless of results. But that's not it either.Hiring managers need to do two things and two things only:1. Hire employees that ALREADY care and are ALREADY motivated.2. Repeat step 1.When this is done, everything changes. People are happy on both sides of the table.Costs for management and training plummet
I am a drifter, and as lonely as that can be, it is also remarkably freeing. I will never define myself in terms of anyone else. I will never feel the pressure of peers or the burden of parental expectation. I can view everyone as pieces of a whole, and focus on the whole, not the pieces. I have learned to observe, far better than most people observe. I am not blinded by the past or motivated by the future. I focus on the present because that is where I am destined to live.
“It will be a definite challenge for him. Maybe he got bored with his life. He can do just as much from the corporate seats being an owner than he can from behind the bench. You have to have the type of person who will get (ticked) off and motivate. He's too nice of a guy. It's hard to get mad at a guy like that. As nice a player as he was on the ice, he was a nicer guy off of it. You need a coach to get in your face.”
Every action, thought and feeling is motivated by an intention, and that intention is a cause that exists as one with an effect. If we participate in the cause, it is not possible for us not to participate in the effect. In this most profound way, we are held responsible for our every action, thought, and feeling which is to say, for our every intention…it is therefore, wise for us to become aware of the many intentions that inform our experience, to sort out which intentions produce which effects, and to choose our intentions according to the effects that we desire to produce.
Maybe there wasn't, after all, a clear motivation for any of the things that people did. Maybe they just did them for no reason at all or because of stupidity or selfishness or cowardice or anger or for reasons that made no rational sense - because the clouds happened to be a particularly gloomy shade of gray that day, because the barking of an old dog chained to a sycamore tree just happened to sound exactly like the crunch of soldiers' boots on gravel or the hum of bees like an engine in the head driving you mad.
One and all they are driven by the twin engines of ignorance and willful barbarism. You nod, you also are familiar with these two powerful components of our national character, ignorance and willful barbarianism. Yes, everywhere you turn, and even among the most gifted of us, the most extensively educated, these two brute forces of motivation will eventually emerge. The essential information is always missing; sensitivity is a mere veil to self-concern. We are all secret encouragers of ignorance, at heart we are all willful barbarians.
Freedom, "that terrible word inscribed on the chariot of the storm," is the motivating principle of all revolutions. Without it, justice seems inconceivable to the rebel's mind. There comes a time, however, when justice demands the suspension of freedom. Then terror, on a grand or small scale, makes its appearance to consummate the revolution. Every act of rebellion expresses a nostalgia for innocence and an appeal to the essence of being. But one day nostalgia takes up arms and assumes the responsibility of total guilt; in other words, adopts murder and violence.
People undergo several sequential steps in maturing from infancy including childhood, adolescences, young adulthood, middle age, and old age. Each stage presents distinct challenges that require a person to amend how they think and act. The motive for seeking significant change in a person’s manner of perceiving the world and behaving vary. Alteration of person’s mindset can commence with a growing sense of awareness that a person is dissatisfied with an aspect of his or her life, which cause a person consciously to consider amending their lifestyle.
“If I could name one skill, it's to be the best putter out there. The one who makes the most putts wins the golf tournament. That's what she and I are looking at. Wait until this girl learns how to putt. (Former player and now TV analyst) Dottie Pepper said that on one of the telecasts. That is driving her to practice, too. She is the most motivated I've seen her. It's really made me happy seeing her trying to do the right things.”
“[Mike's influence has been felt throughout the community and he's helped start many local people on the road to a more positive life style with running and physical activity in general.] He gave me some tips about how to stride and control my breathing, ... I got my motivation while I was lying there in bed that I wanted to make some changes in my life. You set goals and you have to try to live up to them.”
