The real world just doesn’t offer up as easily the carefully designed pleasures, the thrilling challenges, and the powerful social bonding afforded by virtual environments. Reality doesn’t motivate us as effectively. Reality isn’t engineered to maximize our potential. Reality wasn’t designed from the bottom up to make us happy.
Dante, I think, committed a crude blunder when, with a terror-inspiring ingenuity, he placed above the gateway of his hell the inscription, 'I too was created by eternal love'--at any rate, there would be more justification for placing above the gateway to the Christian Paradise...the inscription 'I too was created by eternal hate'...
Every family has a destiny to fulfill....Every child is the future of his or her family and nation at large....Every father is a hero to his son (child).....Fathers are you truly heroes to your children....check your thoughts, actions and motives.....are you really living up to your children' s expectations ?
It seems we would rather have a past filled with great scientists than just great artists and writers who could dream up these wonderful and awe-inspiring creations. It's a strange irony: we're spending our time trying to find the truth in our past, but creating myths of ourselves in the present.
By focusing exclusively on the events of the day, journalism all but severs the connection between time and eternity. In short, journalism is not able to communicate wisdom.
“Melissa has been in the Social Work Program since the fall semester of 2004. She demonstrates a lot of energy and is motivated, dependable and well liked and respected by peers and faculty. Melissa has been an excellent role model to many students in our program, and she has also successfully balanced school, work and family.”
“We're making a special effort this year to identify the health seeker, that person who starts and stops a fitness program. We're trying to figure out what they want and tailor our programs to them and send personal phone calls, letters and e-mails to hook them up with other members to keep them motivated.”
“I know I have to get things done, so I think that's what motivates me. I think that will continue when I go to college because I'm hoping I can play football and wrestle in college too. If I do that, I'm going to have to keep working hard.”
“We wanted to secure a place for him at stud in England and give breeders a chance to participate. The Royal Studs are very appropriate. Syndications have trickled along in recent years because the two big players, understandably, don't want to be dictated to by shareholders. We thought syndication suited what we want to do with Motivator.”
“Last year's game greatly motivated us. We knew our offense was good enough to win. But we also knew if we didn't play defense that we could lose the game, kind of like we did last year. We picked up the defense, picked up the intensity and took the win.”
