Don't deny the past. Remember everything. If you're bitter, be bitter. Cry it out! Scream! Denial is gangrene.
[About sex]: If we’re not intentional about pursuing God’s best for our marriages, and grasping the tremendous role intimacy plays in that relationship, what was intended to be deeply enjoyed - a passionate, life-giving love affair... alight with laughter, fiercely protected, and drenched in freedom - becomes a stuffy, awkward thing to be endured.
It takes courage and resilience to be true to ourself. We have to know that we will be okay even if others reject or ridicule us. We have to know it won’t destroy us.
Who we are now is all that really matters.

It is impossible to exercise free will as long as we are operating from within the system. Free will requires consciousness, and our pervasive and deep-seated patterns of thought are unconscious; they are outside of our awareness and therefore outside of our control. While we remain in the system, we see the world through the eyes of carnism. And as long as we look through eyes other than our own, we will be living in accordance to a truth that is not of our own choosing. We must step outside the system to find our lost empathy and make choices that reflect what we truly feel and believe, rather than what we've been taught to feel and believe.

She'd have different names, a.k.a. Snake, a.k.a. Snow - no that was juvenile. She wanted to be extraordinary, to possess a savage glitter.

Never compare yourself to others because you are unique and beautiful in your own ways.
To identify with others is to see something of yourself in them and to see something of them in yourself--even if the only thing you identify with is the desire to be free from suffering.
The possibility of the dream is our joy.
The joy of living is the heart of thanksgiving.
The joy of living is the gratitude of the moment.
Joy keeps the soul alive.
My hope is my joy.
Jesus Christ is my joy.
The sweet sorrow is tears of joy.
Joy is your heart's housekeeper.
...men are as vulnerable to joy as they are to suffering.
The sacred heart is filled with joy.
